You're invited to the Minneapolis Central Library plaza for a "Shareformance"—a work-in-progress showing—of MY BODY MY HOME on August 8!
MY BODY MY HOME is a unique collaboration between zAmya Theater Project and acclaimed choreographer Lelis Brito. This performance-based project brings together housed and unhoused community members to explore the profound experience of displacement, and how individuals find a sense of "home" within their own bodies and environments.
This performance is the culmination of a five-week summer workshop series hosted at the Minneapolis Central Library and the Hennepin Center for the Arts. Participants who have experienced homelessness have collaborated with Brito to develop and rehearse movement patterns focusing on the physical gestures, routines, and expressions people engage in to manage emotions and cultivate a sense of safety and belonging.
Come support the performers, witness the creative process, and experience how movement can build understanding across our community.

Accessibility/Inquiries: The Minneapolis Central Library Plaza is fully ADA-compliant. The plaza features seamless, flat hard-surface pathways. If you have questions, please email Esther Ouray, Company Manager, at [email protected].
Getting there: Library parking is located underground; cost is approximately $6. The entrance is on 4th St. Accessible parking spaces are available on each level near the elevators. The library is also easily accessed by public transportation.
$10 gift cards: Available for audience members bringing lived experience of housing instability; please check in at our table before the show using code word "Expert" to claim your gift card.
Free community meal: There will be a meal served from a food truck after the performance.
