MWSA Badminton Tournament

MWSA is hosting a badminton tournament, open to all participants, 45 years or older, at the time of registration. As we have limited spots available, MWSA Members and Reciprocal Members (from a participating seniors centre) will have first priority. Non-members and guests can participate, if there are still spots available.
Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
Time: 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Location: MWSA Gym, 2nd Floor, 2610 Hewes Way
There are two courts available (Note: the ceiling is low)
Equipment provided: Net and shuttles.
Please bring: a racquet, clean shoes, and a water bottle.
Registration Fee Per Player:
MWSA Members: $15
Reciprocal Members: $20
Non-Members: $25
Registration fee includes: games, snacks and tournament prizes to winners of each category on both sides of the Round Robin play
Tournament Format: Round Robin, doubles (mens, womens, mixed)
Game Format: Best of 3 games up to 15 points each (no deuces played)-Max 20 minutes
Team Format: Partners paired from each seniors centre by random draw with an attempt to balance skill levels (to avoid teams with 2 strong players or 2 less confident players).
Each seniors centre should attempt to bring at least one mens, one womens, and mixed team.
