November's monthly Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Gathering and Annual Membership Jam will be held at Alma D’Arte Charter High School. The concert will feature (you) members of MVJBS and the Miguel Torres Quartet.
Miguel and his group will have a short presentation and then he will open it up to the membership and guests. Those interested in performing can contact Miguel at [email protected] and he will try to work you into the program!
Miguel requests you perform standard tunes only and If you sing in a key other than the original you must provide chord changes for 4. We will try to accommodate everyone with at least one tune. Members get priority.
This will also be the month we start our meetings earlier in the day to accommodate the end of daylight saving time. The dessert social will begin at 3 p.m. and the meeting/concert will start at 3:30 p.m. This will continue until daylight saving time starts again in March.
Join MVJBS and share in a night of unique jazz and blues performances and an update on how our Jazz and Blues Festival went in October by MVJBS President Carol Mertensmeyer and Music Director, Pancho Romero.
Meetings are open to the public and all are welcome. Attendance is $5 for members, $10 for non-members and $2 for students at the door.
New to MVJBS and would like to become a member? Annual dues are $25 per individual, $40 per family or $5 for students. Pay for 2025 membership dues and get November and December 2025 for free. Learn more about the organization online at www.mvjazzblues.net or on social media @MVJBS.
