About Jessica & Joni
Jessica Estigarribia and Jonathan “El Chiqui” Cañete are based in
Buenos Aires, where they teach together at the historic Dinzel
Studio and co-organize the milonga Pecado Nuevo at El Batacazo. They also perform, DJ, and collaborate with some of the city’s most iconic tango spaces, carrying forward a tradition in which
tango is not only a dance, but a joyful, social, and deeply shared
experience. They are currently working under the direction of Eric
Dinzel & Flavia Kohut for the next part of the sold out show
“La Improvisación: El Metodo”.
Their teaching is rooted in the rich tradition of tango — seen not
just as a dance, but as a joyful, social, and shared experience. But
what does it mean to truly connect in tango? While every person
brings a unique body and personal style, a shared technique and
internal logic are essential for creating comfort, fluidity, and true
communication.
Jessica Estigarribia, born in an Argentinian family in Sweden and
with a background in theatre and human geography, explores
communication, improvisation, and the cultural forces that
give tango its depth—as a meeting between people
and as an art form.
Jonathan “El Chiqui” Cañete is from the suburbs
of Buenos Aires, where he has been a driving
force in organizing milongas and tango events
from the beginning of his journey, helping to
sustain and energice the local tango culture. He
has DJed across Argentina, bringing his energy
and musicality to dance floors nationwide.
✨ Come have fun with us — dance, connect, and share the joy of tango in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Let’s dance the night away! ❤️
