Grab your favorite mug and four-legged friend for a cozy winter event for our dog park users. Join us at the Lower Rock Run Dog Park for an afternoon socializing while keeping warm with cocoa and coffee provided by staff. Treats and activities will also be provided for the dogs!
The Will County Emergency Management Agency will be on site with its AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailer and materials to help educate you on emergency preparedness for your pets.
Fee: Free!
Age: Ages 12 or older. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
No registration required.
A 2026 Forest Preserve District of Will County dog park permit or day pass is required for all dogs attending the event. Permits and day passes can be purchased beforehand online or at a Forest Preserve visitor center. Day passes will be available for purchase on site, cash only. A current rabies tag and tag number are required to purchase a permit or day pass.
The dog park is a short walk from the parking lot on paved surfaces. The dog park enclosures consist of uneven, natural surfaces. The dog park is not shoveled during snowy conditions. The parking lot is plowed. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with-disabilities-act-information/request-accommodation-inclusion-service/) no later than 48 hours before the program.
