About this Event

Training builds a common language between humans and their animals and helps develop trust and a healthy relationship. Help strengthen the bond between you and your dog with Halloween-themed tricks.

Tricks they will learn include:

  • “Are you scared?” – dogs learn to cover their eyes
  • Play dead
  • Beg for a treat
  • Zombie crawl

Each week of this workshop (October 17 and 24) will include unique tricks, so guests are welcome to sign up for both sessions!

Every dog will receive a small goodie bag full of treats at the end of the class.

Recommended prerequisite: Beginner Mutt Manners or equivalent training

Classes are limited to 8 dogs. Register now to save your spot!

Participants' – both pet parents and their dogs – health and safety are our highest priority. This means that all dogs must be up to date on their vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella). Please bring proof of vaccinations to the class.

To save time at check-in, please fill out your and email your dog's vaccination records to [email protected].

Additionally, please note that this class is designed for dogs who are comfortable with new dogs and people. If your dog is reactive or becomes overexcited around new dogs and people, we suggest you register for a class that can specifically help your pet become calmer around other dogs and environments before joining this session.

Please note the following guidelines and reminders in advance of the class:

• Dog handlers must be 13 years of age or older

• Dog handlers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult

• There must also be at least one adult present for every child under the age of 13

• There is only one handler allowed per dog. If more than one person is attending with a dog, one person will be designated to participate as the handler and additional attendees will observe

• Dog handlers must wear closed toed shoes and long pants

• Dog handlers must bring a six-foot, non-retractable leash

• Dogs must wear a flat collar, cloth Martingale or harness (no choke chains or prong collars)

• We recommend avoiding giving treats to your dog for a few hours prior to class, and only a light breakfast if necessary- a hungry dog is a motivated learner!

Covid-19 Guidelines for Annenberg PetSpace

During these times, Annenberg PetSpace is implementing additional safety rules and regulations for any guests entering the space.

Please adhere to the following guidelines and processes outlined below:

A face covering/mask must be worn at all times while at the space

Per the City of Los Angeles guidelines, Mayor Eric Garcetti has issued an order requiring Angelenos to wear face coverings when they leave their homes and will be near other people. Face coverings that protect the nose and mouth help stop the spread of the virus and wearing them in public creates a layer of protection.

Face masks must be worn by all guests ages 2 and up, and includes those who have been vaccinated for Covid-19. Masks must be worn in outdoor areas as well.

Please practice safe physical distancing

We ask that guests practice safe physical distancing of at least 6 feet in all settings in and around the space.

Together we can do our part to keep each other safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
