Mutha is a powerful, intergenerational storytelling activation that shares the power and history behind Juneteenth.
About this Event

Join us from 3:00–5:00 PM for a special Juneteenth presentation by Antwoinette L. Ayers, an Illinois Humanities speaker from East St. Louis, as she brings her acclaimed storytelling activation, "Mutha," to our community.

Mutha is a powerful intergenerational experience that:

• Explores the history and significance of Juneteenth
• Celebrates African American heritage, culture, and symbolism
• Honors elders through a live and interactive community moment
• Invites participation through movement, reflection, storytelling, and celebration

Through heartfelt dialogue and shared experiences, Antwoinette weaves together stories of resilience, freedom, and family, creating a meaningful space for connection across generations.

Come learn, reflect, and celebrate as we honor the past, embrace the present, and inspire hope for the future. Everyone is welcome.
