Relaunch of The Muslims Teachers’ AssociationÂ
The Muslim Teachers’ Association (MTA), originally founded in 1979 by the late Naz Bokhari OBE (the first Muslim headteacher of a state school in the UK), is relaunching with renewed purpose and leadership under the Naz Legacy Foundation. As the UK faces increasingly complex educational and societal challenges, the MTA seeks to re-establish itself as the principal platform supporting Muslim educators and students. The MTA will promote professional development, enhance pupil welfare, and advocate for Muslim representation in policy and leadership across the education sector. This relaunch marks the beginning of a new chapter, one rooted in unity, purpose and action, with the aim of becoming the foremost voice for Muslim teachers in the United Kingdom.
