Musiq Soulchild, born Taalib Johnson, is one of the most influential R&B singers of his generation. Weaned on Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Donny Hathaway, Musiq pioneered the "neo-soul" movement of the early millennium. He has received 13 Grammy nominations and has sold millions of records worldwide. He is still one of the most popular performers of his time and a true artist. Known for his raw vocal talent. Musiq went from signing on the street corners of Philadelphia in the late go's, to landing a big record deal with Def Jam in 2000, ushering in a new age sound of his own.
