Arts Cheyenne and the Alternative Arts Project are excited to partner on a new series designed with musicians in mind. This free, 3-part series covers basic topics for emerging and up-and-coming area musicians to learn more about how to be successful in the business. Come learn from seasoned industry professionals and creative career advisors as they discuss topics from marketing yourself, getting booked and re-booked, and how to plan your future.November 5th: Marketing yourself as a musician

This first course will start with how to market yourself as a musician, including what things you should have to start building a fan base and what things you need to be able to get booked. We’ll also cover how to create impactful content, and how to best present yourself as an artist. Features panelists Matt Bacon, Founder of Dropout Media & Bacon Bits (remote presentation), Renee Jelinek, Founder and Marketing Director at The Lincoln, and Kenna Ortiz, Marketing Manager and Photographer at The Lincoln.
Next up, we’ll discuss the do’s and don'ts of reaching out to venues to inquire about playing there. We’ll also cover the process of working with a venue, how to engage with sound and light engineers, and what to know about putting on a good performance to keep scoring gigs into the future. Featuring panelists: Renee Jelinek – Founder and Talent Buyer at The Lincoln, Garrett Herron – Production Manager and Lighting Director at The Lincoln, Andrew Whiteman – Touring Sound Engineer for Drowning Pool, House Sound Engineer at The Lincoln, and Guitarist for Antisaint, and Bri Long – Talent Buyer and Owner of Longevity Production.
The final session in this series helps you think through your career development as a musician. From starting out and pitching yourself, to creating a plan, to understanding what you need to be successful. Featured panelist TBA!
