TampaRep’s Producing Artistic Director, Emilia Sargent of Emilia Sargent Studio, is teaming up with Alexis Carra, a Broadway and TV and Film veteran and co-founder of the Performing Arts Intensive, Broadway Arts Community and Broader Than Broadway. Alexis’s credits include shows on Broadway such as Wicked, Fosse, and Sweet Charity and on TV such as Grey’s Anatomy and Fosse Verdon. Emilia is the principal voice and acting teacher for Emilia Sargent Studio. She has been an award-winning professional actor, singer, director, and theatre-maker, as well as a highly sought after teacher for over twenty years, splitting her time between Tampa and New York City.
Join Alexis and Emilia for a Musical Theatre Intensive designed for those students excited to dive deeper into their process while also remaining joyful, supportive and curious. All three aspects of musical theatre will be given focus (acting, singing, and dancing) through a process oriented, wholistic approach to working with each artist. Come as you are, wherever you are on your journey. Whether you are a dancer wanting to work on voice and acting technique, or a singer or actor who wants to expand your dance skills, this is for you. All levels are encouraged to attend! We will work on solos and group numbers and present a work in progress, or “work-case”, on the mainstage the final day, June 26th. There will also be lunch-and-learn zooms with visiting specialists, including a psychologist who specializes in Mental health and the arts, NY/LA agents, managers, and Broadway stars, including BAC’s other Co-Founder, Chryssie Whitehead. Specialists will provide feedback, valuable information, and Q&A sessions. Limited spaces are available due to the individualized attention Alexis and Emilia will provide.*
Class size is limited to 24 students, Ages 13 – college*
