Join Northern Prep Squad and Erin Caldwell for a Musical Theatre Audition Prep Workshop this July in Manchester. Erin is the runner/assistant for Jim Arnold who casts shows such as Wicked (for which Erin runs the auditions), the prince of Egypt (Also production assistant), Something Rotten, currently Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and much much more. Remember, anyone from any training facility can attend our events as they are designed to top up your training.
This workshop aims to expand your knowledge of the audition process as well as allowing you to put all of your skills into practise and gain feedback from those who usually sit on the other side of the panel. Our Audition Prep workshops are always fun, informative and no pressure as its all about gaining the skills and knowledge in order for you to do the best you can in the future, after all .... practise makes permanent.
What to expect?
This 2 hour workshop will consist of...
-Dance Call - You will learn a dance combination on the day and perform in smaller groups just like most auditions.
-Singing call - We ask that you prepare 1 min - 1 1/2mins of a contemporary Musical theatre song which you will deliver unaccompanied on the day.
-Acting call - A script will be sent out the week before which you will learn/be familiar with and perform in groups on the day.
-Feedback - We all know that unless you get far in an audition process then feedback isn't really given. We think feedback is so important especially when you are starting out, so we give every attendee written feedback from our industry professional and team in order for you to reflect and improve on your auditions in the future.
About Erin:
Erin trained at the Guildford School of Acting and has since performed as well as acting as runner/Jim's Assistant at Jim Arnold Casting.
Theatre credits include Susan in ‘Pretty Woman’ at the Savoy Theatre, Ava in ‘Unravelling’ at the Union Theatre, Jen in ‘Twist & Turn’ at The Other Palace, Sharon in ‘Jimmy Mac’ at The Gaitey Theatre.
Film & TV credits include Kirstin in ‘Love Ostvam’ (Feature Film), Cassie Sandsmark in ‘Superboy: Son of Tomorrow’ (Short film) (American film festival award winner) and Jenny Miles in ‘Jess the Border Collie’ (BBC series)
**Please note that NPS Audition prep workshops are designed to do just that, prep you for the real thing so please don't no panicking (we don't panic over here). We are here to ensure that you have a positive experience learning from industry professionals whilst also encouraging you to push yourself out of your comfort zone in a safe and creative space.
