Musical Theater-Oke: Literary-Inspired Singing at the Book Bar

Literary Arts is thrilled to present a very special edition of Musical Theater-oke at this year’s Portland Book Festival! Join us on Thursday, November 5, from 7:00 PM to midnight at the BOOK BAR on SW Salmon St for an unforgettable evening of high-octane theatrical passion, showtunes, and community.
The fabulous Courtney Freed and Adam John Roper take the stage as your ultimate hosts, guiding you through an open-mic experience where you are invited to belt your heart out—bonus points if you choose a song inspired by classic literature or iconic books or stories!
Backing up our performers are two of the city's finest live pianists, Colin Shepard and Matt Katz, ready to bring your favorite musical theater anthems to life. Whether you're a seasoned stage performer or a shower singer waiting for your big moment, this is your time to shine.
What to bring: Yourself, your passion, your sheet music (or digital PDFs), and all the literary vibes you can muster!
Don't miss this one-of-a-kind fusion of books, Broadway, and sheer musical joy. Mark your calendars and come sing your heart out!
