Musical Story Studio

Musical Story Studio aims to share our love of music and story creation with everyone, especially those who may not see themselves represented in mainstream art and music. They believe that it is important for diverse voices to be empowered to share their stories and to be heard. We need to create opportunities to listen to, and understand each-other's differences so that we can work together. In our modern society youth and seniors rarely have the opportunity to interact in meaningful ways. There are rare exceptions to this, but most extended families are separated by great distances, or at least by a lack of intersection of daily activities. Yet, in many traditional cultures, the bond and learning that happens between youth and seniors is integral. Youth learn meaningful lessons from the stories of seniors, and in turn, seniors derive a sense of purpose and engagement in life when given the opportunity to share their stories with youth.

This event is at the Regent Park Community Centre, 402 Shuter Street. All children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
