About this Event
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” - Plato
Philharmonic South West Orchestra returns to the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre with a special experience for children and their families. It’s playtime, it’s fun and everyone is welcome.
If you’ve ever been curious to know how a symphony orchestra works, what the instruments in an orchestra look and sound like, then this is your chance.
Musical Mayhem is part of a concert series specially designed to be accessible for young people with curious hearts, minds and ears. The carefully selected music presentation is aimed at primary school children, with wide appeal to children of all ages, their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties and carers.
Hosted by Jackie Ross, an experienced musician, presenter and music educator, we are masterfully guided in an 45 minute interactive magical tour through the world of orchestra. Maestro David Pye, conducts, and the full Philharmonic South West Orchestra which extends from stage, out into the audience creating an intimate, up close and personal experience.
Following the first ever appearance of a full orchestra at HRCC in 2022 which sold-out and was widely acclaimed, this is another unique experience not to be missed.
There are just 2 performances and limited seats.
This special performance is brought to you by Philharmonic South West Orchestra, Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Retravision.
