This workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to Musical Improv!
About this Event

Ever wonder how some performers can make up entire songs on the spot? Now you can learn how! This workshop is a beginner-friendly introduction to musical improv.
Students will learn the fundamentals of musical improv, such as song structure and improvising lyrics, and also build comfort with incorporating musical elements into their scene work.
This course is best suited to students with at least a foundation of prior improv training, but no prior music/singing background is necessary!

About the Instructor

Michael is an improviser, music director, and songwriter. He's been active in the greater Boston improv scene for 7 years, having played on stage and on keys with ComedySportz, Dirty Disney, Uncomposed, Nova, and more! He also ran the Somerville Musical Improv jam, where people of all different skill levels came together to play musical improv games and sing songs. In his spare time, he releases indie comedy songs under the name LJY and plays in many D&D games.

About the Location

This workshop will take place at The Cambridge Foundry in Kendall Square. This workshop will be in the RED MULTIROOM - take a right as soon as you head in the front doors, and you'll see us! If you need help finding your way, The Foundry staff is amazing, and located right inside at the front desk!
