About this Event
Ready to give your improv scenes a new level of emotional impact, comedic energy, and fun with MUSIC? In this three week crash course, music director and veteran improviser Rod Bagheri will teach you how to takes your scenes into songs! The focus of this class will be finding organic songs within scenes for use in long-form style improv. Come ready to venture into song for the first time or polish your technique! No musical experience necessary.
Prerequisite: Intermediate improv experience (students should have fundamental improv skills)
Cost: $179
Dates: 2/16, 2/23, 3/2 from 2pm-6pm
Where: 1215 Baker St Costa Mesa (inside the Starlight Theater)
About Rod:
Seen both as a conductor/pianist and as an actor, Rod has been a music director for several local companies including The Candlelight Pavilion (Legally Blonde, Footloose, 9 to 5), The Wayward Artist (Next To Normal) and The Chance Theater (Lysistrata Jones, West Side Story). Recently as an actor: Davey in Newsies (3d Theatricals), Jerry Lee Lewis u/s in Million Dollar Quartet (National Tour), Jesus in Godspell (The Wayward Artist). Former Assistant Conductor for Pageant of the Masters. Has taught voice, piano, and improv for over a decade.
