Dishari Foundation is pleased to announce an upcoming informal concert of Indian classical music by Supratik Sengupta (sitar) and his wife Kasturi Bandyopadhyay (vocal). They will be accompanied by our own Pradosh Sarkar on tabla.
Supratik SenGupta is a young talent in sitar, who received many years of tutelage from leading sitar players in Kolkata and lately from Padmabhushan Pandit Budhhadeb Dasgupta of Senia Shahjahanpur gharana.
Kasturi Bandyopadhyay, daughter of eminent Tabla Maestro, Pandit Ananda Gopal Bandyopadhyay, got many years of talim from some of the best classical vocalists of India, Pandit K. G. Ginde, Pandit Arun Bhaduri and Vidushi Girija Devi.
Finally, Pradosh Sarkar does not require any introduction to Bay Area audience. A talented disciple of Pandit Swapan Chowdhury, Pradosh Sarkar is deeply involved in music, art and culture in Bay Area.
This is a free event, supported by Dishari Foundation.
We encourage audience for generous donations to support Dishari’s current and future activities.
