Join us for a special live concert — the final session of this year’s Music Social Club for Seniors (and all interested!)
After two inspiring gatherings exploring classical recordings, this time the music comes to life right before your eyes. Cellist Anna Shabalina and pianist Joseph Dowell will take you on a journey through the beauty of Baroque and Romanticism, featuring works by Bach, Vivaldi, Brahms, Rachmaninov, and others.
Set in the serene and acoustically rich sanctuary of Hillside United Church, the evening blends the warmth of community with the depth of live performance. Between pieces, Anna will share reflections and stories that reveal the human life behind every work of art — its joys, struggles, and longings. Through these stories and sounds, we are reminded that what unites us is something timeless: the meaningful connection between people, and between the human and the divine — the source and driving force of our lives, then, now, and always.
The concert will last approximately 1.5 hours, with two sets and a short intermission for conversation and connection.
