A Clarinet Concert at Books on the Rise

Join the Corelia Project at Books on the Rise on July 24th at 7pm for an evening of exciting musical discovery in this intimate concert which dives into a world of music by exceptional women from across the globe.

Showcasing the remarkable capabilities of the clarinet and its unique range of voices, this concert will spotlight solo and duo music by women from the 11th century to the present day. Take a journey from the mesmerising plainchant of Hildegard von Bingen to the lush, pastoral sound-worlds of Ruth Gipps and Grace Williams, the joyful quirky music of Fran Griffin and beyond.

Curated by clarinettists Magdalenna Krstevska and Sophie Glenny, founders of the Corelia Project, this special event will shine a spotlight on music that is all too often overlooked, and will be the perfect opportunity to discover something new and to fall in love with composers you won’t believe you’ve never heard of!
