Scottie has had quite a ride this past half-year! He was named Bluebird Reviews 2023 “Artist Of The Year” for his most recent poetry book and album “Carnival Cocoon.” His work with Ruthie Foster took him to the red carpet at The 2024 Grammy's ® ️ as her album “Healing Time” was nominated for “Best Contemporary Blues Album.” (Scottie co-wrote the title track and other songs on the album.) The same album was nominated in the recent Blues Music Awards, for which he won “Song Of The Year” for his contributions on the song “What Kind Of Fool.” (Foster/Sayers/Miller.)
When Scottie isn’t touring with Foster he performs around his home in the twin-cities, often with Cierra Alise Hill. Cierra arranged and recorded all the strings on his latest “Carnival Cocoon.” She is a highly respected violinist and arranger for multiple bands around the Twin Cities, most recently releasing a new cd with her band Do A Barrel Roll. Cierra has performed in arenas with touring acts from around the world including Michael Bublé, Disturbed, Brian Setzer, Kygo, Celtic Woman, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
