Join the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras for an enchanting evening of beloved movie music designed to lighten your mood and excite your senses! Our program features selections from cinematic classics including Harry Potter, The Last of the Mohicans, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Godzilla, La La Land, Pirates of the Caribbean,The Little Mermaid and more.
This concert truly offers something for everyone—sophisticated enough for music and movie enthusiasts, yet accessible to all who are young at heart. The evening will showcase our newly formed FCO Chamber Orchestra, alongside gifted local pianist Jackson Wynne.
Spotlight: Jackson Wynne
Jackson Wynne is a rising musical talent from Fredericksburg who attended the prestigious Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in Michigan this past summer. This versatile musician studies piano, organ, and cello, and will both perform solo piano selections and join the orchestra on cello during the concert. Before picking up the cello, Jackson achieved a high level of facility with the violin and fiddle as well.
Currently a freshman at Ambleside School of Fredericksburg, Jackson is already a staple of the the Fredericksburg musical community. According to FCO Director Theresa Britt, "I have seldom taught such a young, gifted musician. In just a few years of playing cello, he has advanced to the most advanced level of the Hill Country Youth Orchestras in Kerrville and now performs alongside adults in the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras."
Jackson helps with the music at Ambleside School and performs in chapel each week accompanying his fellow students in hymns. He has also performed at school concerts and graduation on piano. Jackson is beginning his journey in contributing to worship services at his home church, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg. A portion of the evening's donations will support Jackson's attendance at the Interlochen Center for Arts Summer program in 2026.
About FCO's Mission
This past May, the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras was reinvented with a renewed commitment to bringing the transformative power of music to our community through edficuation and performances. We have already delivered two moving performances this year featuring local musicians, including a memorial service for those lost in the devastating Kerr County flood—demonstrating music's power to provide comfort when words aren't enough.
Our ensemble brings together professional musicians who generously donate their time and expertise alongside community musicians and advanced students. We rehearse at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, where we are warmly welcomed by the congregation—and occasionally entertained by Miko, the resident cat, who has been known to provide perfectly timed "vocal accompaniment" to our music!
Come experience the magic of music from the silver screen in an evening that celebrates both cinematic artistry and our vibrant local musical community. We hope to see you there!
