Music Monday!

Note: In April 2023, Music Quest and Kelli Welli are swapping weeks!

No matter the week, there's always some music and fun happening on Monday mornings in the REC Room! Join us at 10:30am for an hour of music and movement with a rotating group of PDX favorite kindie musicians!

First Mondays: Mr Hoo

“Mr. Hoo (aka Jeff Inlay) has been playing music for kids and families for over 12 years, both as a solo artist and with his band, The Alphabeticians. Before that, he performed locally with his band Hummingfish in the 90s, as well as being a founding member of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. That last part is questionable?. He plays guitar, ukulele and kazoo (kazoogle, wazoo and wazoogle), and performs a mix of original songs and classics.”

Second Mondays: Music Quest

“Music Quest (Ben Tarne) is a Portland based Kindie performer. I enjoy taking kids of all ages on musical quests filled with singing, laughter, movement and smiles. We all have the ability to make music! There are high seas adventures with pirates, a farmhouse, a fox, an animals making bubbles too; a little red caboose, and a rigabamboo!!”

Third Mondays: Kelli Welli

“Kelli Welli writes songs and stories for kids and the people who love them. Drawing on her unique upbringing and often inspired by the kids and animals in her life, Kelli Welli’s wide-ranging and award-winning songwriting is smart, fun, often hilarious, sometimes reflective and deeply sweet. Always genuine. Her original songs and lullabies weave wonderful tales, celebrate love, nature, different languages, and honor all the details that come with raising these amazing little people in our lives. Alongside her wonderful friend and masterful musician, Timmy Jim, the Portland, OR based artist shares tidbits from her life as a new mom, with songs she and her twins actually use to learn and encourage, or just to have fun and laugh along with, as well as songs she has written to honor all the little people she loves.”

Fourth Mondays: Beatles Daddy

"All Together Now" is an Acoustic dance party featuring the music of The Beatles. Nicholas Humenay-Klaver teaches Guitar, Bass, and full Rock Band classes at Ethos Music Center for Kids in North Portland, and performs in the Beatles cover band "Sgt. Klaver's Album Cover Band." He is often joined by his fellow Guitarist Papa Steve Cooper.

All kids attending must be accompanied by an adult during the show. Please book a ticket for every person attending (kids + grownups).

Recommended donation is $5+ per person. Thank you for contributing to our community supported shows. 100% of your donations go to supporting the artists and making more shows possible. No family will be turned away for lack of donation.
