Join Irish Singer-songwriter Mark Geary as he plays songs from his latest album, In The Time Of Locusts, among music from previous performances, in a beautiful California Native Garden.You can purchase a ticket to only attend the performance (starts 7:45pm) or add the pre-performance farm-to-table dinner (served 6:15pm) to your performance ticket. The entire evening is BYOB.
Geary has featured on bills with musicians as diverse as Glen Hansard, John Prine, Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Coldplay, and The Frames amongst others plus extensive headlining tours in Europe, the US and Switzerland.
He has composed the full score for three films and has many songs featured in films and TV programs. His latest singles have a quietness that is both cathartic and evocative, setting a new path for Geary's sound. Beautiful, dark and haunting, they feature deftly interwoven layers of acoustic guitars.
Recently, Mark has toured both the north and central regions of Italy as well as Ireland where he now resides. He sold out ‘Upstairs’ in Whelan’s in Dublin and Coughlans in Cork in December 2023. Mark’s new album In The Time Of Locusts was released in February 2024 to critical acclaim. The Irish Times said the album "brims with such thoughtful, gracefully melodic songs that too often your gaze drifts across to some imagined horizon and gets stuck there."
Dinner will be prepared by Matt Close , the resident chef for the California Native Garden Foundation. Matt is a creative force who knows his way around a vegetable, especially how to incorporate the native plants CNGF grows in our gardens.
All tickets (for concert or concert + dinner) have a sliding scale of Seed, Sprout, and Shrub. Please choose whatever level suits you and your needs best. We do not turn anyone away for lack of funds. If you would like to attend, but are short on money, please reach out to the organizer and we will do our best to accommodate you.
