Head along to the stunning park setting behind Albany Mall. Albany Civic Lakes will ring out with some great tunes from SOJØURN, Back to the Hillside, Shallow Dive, D/Angelo + band, and Marmalade.Our first act swings somewhere between pop and indie-rock – Marmalade’s soaring vocals and honest lyricism float above a steady musical backbone to create a juicy jar full of sounds.
D/Angelo, a music producer from Rome currently based in New Zealand, takes the stage with his band, blending elements of progressive house and melodic techno.
Then with classic, semi-hollow electric guitars awash with delay and supported by driving drums, bass, and vocals, Shallow Dive draws listeners into a world of sonic beauty.
Back to the Hillside is an “alt-rock/shoegaze/post-punk” group from Auckland. Although this band claims that genres feel like ill-fitting clothes – they’re doing their own thing in their own way.
Rounding out this resonant line-up is SOJØURN, a surf-psych-reggae band hailing from the sun-drenched surf-town of Mangawhai.
