On Friday, February 6, 2026, the 18-piece Woody Witt Big Band will present a fully immersive performance of the music from the legendary anime Cowboy Bebop at Doc’s Jazz Club. With two sets at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM, the show will feature live big band arrangements performed in sync with scenes from the original series, creating a cinematic, concert-style experience unlike anything Houston has heard—or seen—before.
The program will showcase arrangements primarily written by Jamie Langan, crafted specifically for an 18-piece jazz orchestra, bringing the explosive energy and stylistic variety of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack to the stage. The concert will also include original big band arrangements of material previously performed as small group charts, along with arrangements that honor and closely reflect the feel and architecture of Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts’ groundbreaking score.
