Do you love to play music and want to learn basic business tools to help you generate an income from your passion?Join QMusic and industry representatives for Music business 101, a workshop designed for aspiring musicians, and emerging and semi-professional bands. Music industry workers and established musicians who want a refresher in the basics of business management are also welcome.
Participants will learn the essentials of starting a music business. They will gain valuable knowledge on the practicalities of running a business as a sole trader, partnership or hobbyist. There will also be tips on:
- business accounting
- workplace health and safety
- public liability insurance
- superannuation
Registration begins at 9:30 AM with the workshop commencing at 10:00 AM. Lunch will be provided after the workshop, with an opportunity for networking.
About the facilitator:
QMusic is Queensland’s music industry development association. Their work is critical to the success of Queensland’s contemporary music economy.
They are the only significant and established not-for-profit organisation in Queensland dedicated to delivering sector development and major music events including the Queensland Music Awards and BIGSOUND to stimulate and grow the state’s music sector.
