Knoxville musicians: want to know how to get paid for your work and find support close to home?
The Music Biz Roadshow is coming to Knoxville for an evening focused on the business side of making music, with practical information for independent artists and a chance to connect with other people working in the music community.
Music Biz is the national trade association for the music industry, bringing together artists, managers, labels, publishers, distributors, streaming companies, and music tech. The Roadshow brings that industry knowledge into local music communities.
Here’s what’s happening:
5:30 PM: Show Me the Money! How to Get Paid When Your Music Is Streamed, with Sean McNamara of The Mechanical Licensing Collective
5:45 PM: Get to Know the Tennessee Entertainment Commission, with Jimmy Wheeler of TEC
6:00 PM: Community Resources Available to Indie Artists:
Music Biz’s Portia Sabin will moderate a conversation with Sean McNamara, Jimmy Wheeler, and Casey Fox of the Arts & Culture Alliance about resources and opportunities available to independent artists in East Tennessee.
7:00 PM: Cocktail Mixer and Networking
Tuesday, November 3 | Doors open at 5:00 PM
The Emporium | Knoxville
If you’re making music in Knoxville or anywhere in East Tennessee, this is a chance to get useful information, ask questions, and make connections without having to leave the region.
