Did you know!?
"Founders Sharisse Germain and Scott Yonke met each other in 2016, playing in a Pink Floyd Tribute called ""Run Like Hell"". They planted the seeds for JoJo Green while on tour in Cincinnatti enjoying a Red's game.
JoJo Green was a featured artist for First Avenue's ""Legalized It"" cannabis legalization celebration.
JoJo Green has received local, national, and international independent media praise for their 2022 EP, ""The Summer Tree"" reaching as far as The UK and The Netherlands.
9 out of 10 songs on JoJo Green's debut Album, ""The Line"" (LP - 2021) were recorded entirely individually, separately and remotely by the band. Bassist and co-founder, Scott Yonke, had a mobile studio that he traveled with to each member's residence during the COVID-19 pandemic social distancing period where they completed writing and playing their parts.
The music video for the single, ""Fire Escape"" was filmed entirely in Lowertown, Saint Paul, where the band calls home.
JoJo Green is named after Scott Yonke's late dog, Maxine Jo Green, who was an inspiration for some of his early songwriting. We'll give credit where credit is due, though, guitarist and music arranger, Conner Allen, had the idea to shorten the name to JoJo. Our band, collectively is JoJo Green. None of us claim the name as our own, but we all embody the spirit, so join us and, “Get your JoJo on!”
Lead singer, Sharisse Germain, is a clasically-trained singer with a degree in vocal performance. She studied Opera, Choral, Chamber, and Art Song in school, and has since translated that skillset to harness the power, agility, and stamina that JoJo Green's music demands."
