Music Al Fresco @ Denver Botanic Gardens - A TRAVEL SISTER URBAN ADVENTURE

Join Travel Sister for a very special Urban Adventure at one of Denver's cultural crown jewels, the Denver Botanic Gardens. Although their traditional concert series has been postponed until next year, the DBG, in conjunction with Swallow Hill Music, is offering a very special immersive and serene way to enjoy music in the gardens while communing with nature and each other. Unlike at a traditional concert, during Evenings al Fresco visitors stroll through the Gardens and encounter small, socially distanced ensembles or musicians performing works designed to underscore and bring delight to their evening visit. This collaborative series at the York Street urban oasis enhances the beauty of the Gardens with musical performances, providing respite and renewal in nature.

We will also be treated to a private tour of Kevin Sloan's Radiant Season exhibition led by the artist himself. Radiant Season: Paintings by Kevin Sloan is a reverie on the imperiled natural environment, Radiant Season invites you to observe the silent inhabitants with whom we share our world. Sloan’s paintings elevate the often-overlooked plants, animals, and discarded objects inhabiting the edges of the urban landscape—thistles, traffic cones, sparrows, and the like. These works transform the quiet denizens of the natural (and unnatural) world into mysterious icons—radiant and quietly powerful.

This easy and informal night of music, art, and nature will conclude with a gourmet picnic dinner on the grounds of the Gardens.

• Event is limited to 8 guests
• We will meet at the York Street Entrance at 5:30pm. Entry time is 6:00pm
• Parking is available in the Denver Botanic Gardens Parking structure and on neighboring side streets.
• Gourmet picnic and libations are included.
• Witty banter and friend making encouraged.

Denver Botanic Gardens is taking several precautions to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers. Please be aware of the following when visiting the Gardens:

• If you are feeling sick, please stay home.

• Masks are strongly recommended while outside.

• During instances where social distancing is not possible, such as private events, classes, or at any point while indoors, masks covering mouth and nose are required for adults and children 3 and over.

• Maintain a social distance of 6 feet from anyone outside of your party.

• Buildings including the Orangery, the Science Pyramid, Mordecai Children³ Garden and the Cactus and Succulent House are CLOSED to the public.

• Cash and checks are not accepted at this time. Please plan accordingly.

• Wheelchair and stroller checkout is temporarily suspended. Please plan to bring your own.
