Mushroom Workshop at Triangle Park Community Teaching Garden
Curious about growing your own mushrooms?
Join us for a hands-on Mushroom Workshop at Triangle Park Community Teaching Garden, where we'll explore simple, sustainable ways to grow mushrooms at home and in community spaces.
This workshop will focus on Stropharia rugoso-annulata, more commonly known as the Wine Cap, Burgundy, or Giant Burgundy mushroom. Valued for its rich flavour and ability to thrive in wood chip mulch, it's one of the easiest and most rewarding mushrooms to grow in a garden setting.
We'll begin with an engaging presentation covering the basics of mushroom cultivation, exploring suitable growing sites and demonstrate how to establish your own mushroom patch. We'll then cook and taste Wine Cap mushrooms together while sharing ideas, asking questions, and enjoying good conversation.
Whether you're completely new to growing mushrooms or already mushroom-curious, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to learn practical skills, connect with others, and deepen your understanding of regenerative gardening practices.
