About this Event
Temptress Truffles is the working studio of Elan — a wild foods forager, fiber artist, and traditional skills teacher with over 2 decades of experience. This cozy, by-appointment creative space is designed for small, hands-on classes where nature, craft, and community come together. Each workshop blends practical skills with creativity, seasonal materials, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Step into the world of mushroom cultivation with one of the simplest and most approachable growing methods out there—bucket growing. In this 1.5-hour, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn a low-tech technique that’s just one of many ways to cultivate mushrooms, making it a perfect entry point into a larger mycology journey. Designed for all ages and experience levels, this class shows just how accessible mushroom growing can be, using minimal equipment and easy-to-source materials. Think of it as adding mushrooms to your garden alongside your vegetables—another seasonal crop you can tend, harvest, and enjoy.
With years of experience teaching in the outdoors, Elan brings both depth and enthusiasm to one of her favorite subjects, sharing practical skills along with the many benefits of incorporating mushrooms into your diet and daily life. You’ll leave feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to grow your own fungi at home. 🍄
*All materials included except for your bucket or container. Recycled burlap coffee bags will be available for those who prefer to use natural materials.
