In this fun class, you will learn about many of the top edible and medicinal mushrooms found in our Western Carolina region. We'll focus on species that are worth learning for both culinary and wellness purposes. Following the presentation, you'll enjoy an approximately 30 min discovery walk through portions of our forested area guided by the instructor.
About the Instructor: Brandon Owen has been working with fungi for almost a decade, beginning with his journey towards a cleaner diet and learning about the benefits of mushrooms. Having gained experience in cultivation at several mushroom farms, he later began focusing on foraging wild mushrooms for the purposes of building a genetic library for cultivation. Today he shares his passion with others by providing workshops and lectures on the topic of wild mushroom foraging across the region.
