About this Event
Participants are limited to 15 for this up-close and personal tour of the beautiful and small Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology. You will see Idaho rocks and minerals, a touch-screen map of Idaho Mining Districts, a world-class meteorite exhibit, an authentic mining camp, a Buzz Saw shark exhibit, Blacklight display, the well-known Fujii Collection of polished minerals from Idaho and elsewhere. You'll also see wall graphics explaining Lake Idaho/Lake Bonneville, and an exact replica of Idaho's own dinosaur-the Oryctodromeus. Plus, the IMMG has a seismograph that constantly records and graphs earthquakes from around the world!
The tour will be led by Museum board member Mark Whitaker.
You'll have an opportunity to shop in our extraordinary Gift Shop with prices starting at 50 cents. We have books, rocks, minerals, fossils, gold pans, jewelry, items for children, and more.
