Babies, wiggly toddlers, and caregivers are invited to explore the galleries with our museum educators.
About this Event

What: A free 30 minute educator led program for parents/caregivers with infants through four-year-olds. Museum Sprouts includes a short tour and an activity or craft. Tours and activities are geared toward ages two - four. Please register yourself and your child/children.

Where: The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture 1327 Circle Park Drive, Knoxville, TN 37996

When: Scheduled Tuesdays 9:30-10:30 am*

*Registration opens two weeks in advance of each program and is first come, first served--check back on this event page for registration and details.

Funding for the McClung Museum’s educational programming has been provided by the Knox County Tourism Consortium.

Tuesday, August 11

Volcanos Rock! Join us in the Geology gallery as we learn about volcanos and rocks.


Tuesday, September 8

Caravan of Camels: We will explore a special camel sculpture on view in the Decorative Arts gallery and make our own camel, too!


Tuesday, October 13

Is that a Dinosaur? Explore mammoths, mastodons, mosasaurs and more in the Geology gallery where we discover how dinosaurs are different than other prehistoric animals.


Tuesday, November 3

Marvelous Mosaics! Join us in our newest exhibition, Fashioning Ourselves, as we discover patterns and shapes in the clothes we wear.


Tuesday, December 8

Chomp Chomp! Herbivores, carnivores, and om(nom)nivores. What can teeth tell us about the foods animals eat?



Parking in Circle Park: The Circle Park parking lot in front of the museum has transitioned to hourly paid parking.

The McClung Museum offers ten complimentary parking spaces for museum visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.

To receive a parking validation for a museum spot, park in the designated "Museum Only" visitor spaces located in front of the museum’s entrance on Circle Park. Provide your license plate number to museum staff at the guest services desk upon entry and the staff will assist you in validating your parking.


Additional parking is available in Circle Park for $2 per hour through the Park Mobile app. See the for more information.
