Instance of the Sartorialetum at Museum Mile.
Museum Mile is an annual street party, festival and (semi) open-house event in which a stretch of 5th Avenue by Central Park is closed to traffic for a few hours after usual work hours, and several of the museums and cultural institutions head-quartered in the area hold open houses (often just free admission) and special events. The event attracts vendors, performers, and trendsetters creating a de facto festival.
The Sartorialetum is a bit of a meta-installation curated by IxB, in which creators/owners of works that muddy the line between apparel and sculpture self-assemble to exhibit them in a collective invoking a living sculpture garden or arboretum. Some pieces in the "permanent collection" are available for volunteers to exhibit (see upcoming thread). Otherwise just show up in your regalia and pageantate with the collective.
