Whether you're a longtime poetry lover or have never attended a slam before, this is the perfect introduction to one of the most powerful live art forms. Every performance is original, every word matters, and every round brings the audience closer to crowning one champion.
What to Expect
🎤 Three thrilling rounds of live competition
- Round 1: Every poet performs one original piece (3-minute limit).
- Round 2: Each poet returns with a brand-new original poem.
- Final Round: The three highest-scoring poets battle it out for the title of Poetry Slam de Campeones.
Plus, enjoy a special acoustic music performance by The Braided Janes and spend the evening surrounded by Chicago's vibrant creative community at Museica's Art Studio.
This special event also serves as a fundraiser to support Erika W/A K, who will represent the U.S. Latine diaspora at the 2026 National Mexican Poetry Slam in Campeche, Mexico.
