Murf/Murw is een jaarlijks terugkerend stadsfestival voor experimentele cultuur, waar de pagina's van onze fanzine tot leven worden gebracht in de gehele Tilburgse binnenstad. Zwerf door de experimentele vrijplaats en ontdek de schemerzone tussen live muziek, performance, film en kunst.
Dit jaar nodigen we je uit in gloednieuwe én vertrouwde omgevingen: we openen voor het eerst deuren in Theaters Tilburg en richten een nieuwe pop-up ruimte in in hartje centrum. Ook is er voor de tweede keer het filmprogramma te zien in de leegstaande Broekhovense Kerk.
Op het muzikale front presenteren we onder andere de Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit: vijf Nederlandstalige acts die allemaal op hun eigen manier de kleinkunst vertalen met humor en hedendaagse blik. Trevoga Collective neemt je mee in de Hall of Fame voor een DJ-set en performance waarin hun bekroonde 11 3 8 7-voorstelling voortleeft in een nieuwe duistere verkenning van verlangen en escapisme. Verder beleeft Flavia met de try-out “Mimosa” haar wereldpremière: verwacht sensuele soundscapes die je bij de keel grijpen.
Al in de week vóór het festival zie je de eerste contouren ontstaan: Nina Iggy en Jos Jacob bouwen in Theater De Nieuwe Vorst aan installaties die tijdens het festival voor verstilde adempauzes zullen zorgen. Tegelijkertijd opent een pop-up expositieruimte in twee winkelpanden waar kunstenaars, eerder gesignaleerd in onze fanzine, hun nieuwste werk tonen. In diezelfde ruimte werkt Murf/Murw samen met analoge geluidsstudio Het Concreet aan verrassende publieke interventies, terwijl de underground-icoon TRUUS DE GROOT van Plus Instruments haar iconische ultra-wave geluid presenteert.
In Kunstpodium T is Berkveldt’s overzichtsexpositie Between Breath and Bones te zien: een ruimtelijke installatie over de overgang tussen leven en dood, opgebouwd uit ademende sculpturen, medische materialen en persoonlijke relicten.
Kortom: Murf/Murw 2025 is drie dagen ongefilterde, compromisloze kunst die alles omver blaast wat veilig en voorspelbaar is.

Murf/Murw is a festival celebrating experimental culture, where the pages of our fanzine come to life throughout downtown Tilburg. Wander through this experimental sanctuary and explore the twilight zone where live music, performance, film, and art blend.
This year we welcome you into both brand-new and familiar environments: for the first time we open doors at Theaters Tilburg and set up a new pop-up space right in the city center. The film program also returns for its second edition inside the vacant Broekhovense Church.
On the musical front, we present the Nieuwe Nederlandse Naïviteit: five Dutch-language acts who each reinterpret cabaret in their own way, blending humor with a contemporary outlook. Trevoga Collective takes over the Hall of Fame with a DJ set and performance, where their award-winning piece 11 3 8 7 lives on in a dark new exploration of desire and escapism. Flavia also makes her world premiere with the try-out Mimosa: expect sensual soundscapes that grab you by the throat.
Already in the week leading up to the festival, the first contours appear: Nina Iggy and Jos Jacob construct installations at Theater De Nieuwe Vorst, offering moments of quiet reflection during the festival. At the same time, a pop-up exhibition space opens across two storefronts where artists previously featured in our fanzine present their latest work. In that same space, Murf/Murw collaborates with analogue sound studio Het Concreet on surprising public interventions, while underground icon TRUUS DE GROOT of Plus Instruments brings her legendary ultra-wave sound.
At Kunstpodium T you’ll find Berkveldt’s survey exhibition Between Breath and Bones: a spatial installation on the threshold between life and death, composed of breathing sculptures, medical materials and personal relics.
In short: Murf/Murw 2025 is three days of unfiltered, uncompromising art that blows apart everything safe and predictable.
