Murder, She Wrote fans will enjoy this walking tour of the landmarks that appeared in the hit TV show starring Angela Lansbury. You will begin at the Cabot Cove Historical Society (aka the Kelley House Museum!), then make your way to at least a dozen filming locations, including the 1888 Victorian residence of the mystery-solving character Jessica Fletcher. Visit Doc's house, the mortuary, the beauty parlor, and the famous inn where the suspects stayed.Murder, She Wrote was set in the fictional town of Cabot Cove, Maine, but Mendocino was chosen as the filming location for two reasons: the historic architecture resembles Maine’s and it was geographically much closer to Hollywood. You'll learn trivia about the show, we'll show you photos taken during filming, and we'll share the real history of the buildings you are viewing. We don't go into any of the buildings as the exteriors are what appeared in the TV show; the interiors were filmed on a set. We return to the Kelley House Museum, where you are welcome to watch our digital exhibit on Angela Lansbury. $25.
