About this Event
Join us for an engaging conversation that traces the roots of graffiti culture, starting with insights from ENEM and TameArts on the rise of wall writers in the '70s, '80s, and '90s. ENEM and Tame will share their experiences from the early days of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network, revealing how it shaped its views on public art and Philadelphia graffiti culture as a whole. The discussion will then explore how artists can maintain the authenticity of graffiti and street art while transitioning into fully-fledged "artrepreneurs" in the fine arts space. Gianni Lee will speak to the evolution of street in Black culture and modern art and the journey of turning passion into a career. Moderated by Will Toms, Co-Founder of Rec Philly.
