Save the Date for the newest completed mural in Near Southside!Inspired by the expansive skies over Fort Worth, Big Texas Sky translates shifting light and atmosphere into bands of color that move across four surrounding walls, echoing the changing sky throughout the day. Portions of the mural also reference the colors of nearby Trimble Tech High School and The Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at TCU, connecting the artwork to the surrounding community.
About the Artist
Sarah Bales Losey is a Fort Worth–based artist whose work explores the emotional and perceptual qualities of color. She earned a double major BFA in Communication Design and Printmaking from Texas State University and is currently pursuing an interdisciplinary MFA in Studio Art. Her practice spans painting, printmaking, digital processes, fiber-based work, and large-scale public murals. Over the past several years, Losey has developed a body of work centered on color relationships, atmospheric light, and perceptual experience. Inspired by expansive skies and shifting natural light across North Texas, her compositions translate observations of landscape into simplified forms where subtle tonal shifts create depth, movement, and vibration. Through careful color study and layered tonal variation, her work functions as a kind of visual meditation, inviting viewers to pause, slow down, and experience a moment of presence through color. https://www.sarahbaleslosey.com/
