About this Event
We're back at the Rickshaw Stop on April 22, 2026 at 7 PM! And we're celebrating an incredible 18 years (!!!) of true stories from Muni riders like you. Join us and your fellow bus denizens for a night of stories about growing, learning, and coming of age on Muni.
We'll have a few surprises in store, including exclusive birthday merch. Get your tickets today.
Our wonderful storytellers:
Akash Borde is the founder of Muni Run Club, a run club of hundreds of runners and transit enthusiasts that runs every single Muni Route on foot. His favorite line is the 8 Bayshore, which he dressed up as for Halloween last year. He serves on the Citizens Advisory Council for SFMTA and is passionate about street safety, sustainability, and satire. He is also trying to make Muni Takes happen in SF (short interviews on Muni, based on the popular Subway Takes show), and is looking for your fun hot-take.
Ben Trefny is KALW's Executive Producer, overseeing live events, news, and editorial production. He is a Maynard 200 Fellow, serves on the Journalism and Media Ethics Council at Santa Clara University's Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, and is a board member with the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists which he served as president for four years. He lives with his wife at San Francisco's Ocean Beach and spends as much time as he can outside.
Dr. Bunny McFadden (she/they) is a Chicana mother living and working in San Francisco. As a resident, it brings her joy to offer recommendations to family and friends visiting, and she loves giving directions to lost tourists. Bunny is deeply involved with local issues, striving to make SF better for everyone who lives, works, plays, and visits. From acting as Mission Ambassador to pilgrims walking the Camino to programming public parks, writing for local underground zines and championing neighborhood beautification projects, Bunny puts her hands where her heart is.
Kassandra Pintor is a multidisciplinary artist from San Francisco, dedicates her art to the nostalgia of the city. Her love for Muni started at the age of 5 years old. She would ride the 48 bus with her great grandmother after school, and her bus rides were something she cherished in her childhood. Now, she uses her art to bring people together to share their love for Muni. She believes that the love for Muni is something that people from all the districts of San Francisco all have in common. It bridges us together.
Rhonda Smith is a multi-generational San Franciscan and lifelong Muni rider who still doesn't know how to drive. When she’s not working at Photoworks, street photography is her main hobby. She’s rarely without a camera and has had photos in various shows/publications around the city over the years including in the current menu at Trick Dog.
Sal Albowyha was born and raised right here in San Francisco and is the proud owner of The M Stop Deli. He has a deep love for Muni and everything local.
And our Haiku battle contestants:
Alison Reynolds is a standup comedian and improviser based in San Francisco. She has been featured in The San Francisco Sketchfest Comedy Festival and is a former Dirty Haiku Champion at The Ruckus Revival. Her favorite Muni line is the N-Judah.
Luisa Isbell is an Oakland-based stand-up comic (and social worker, random!) You can catch her monthly storytelling show "About Last Night" every first Friday at the Make Out Room.
