Get set for an evening of scintillating melodies and intoxicating rhythms, played with tenderness and precision by two of Aotearoa’s most fearsome and revered world music ensembles. All the way from Ōtautahi Christchurch, and and with the finest band Te Waipounamu has to offer, Mundi is teaming up with local legends Bazurka to deliver one night of deep, soulful music to the people of Vogeltown.
Bazurka is a dynamic seven-piece band based in Pōneke, bringing together an electrifying blend of vocals, trumpet, saxophone, double bass, guitar, percussion, and violin. Specializing in traditional folk songs from the rich tapestry of the Balkans, as well as captivating Greek folk music, Bazurka delivers an exhilarating musical experience that transports audiences to vibrant cultural landscapes.
Mundi's Music is World Dance Music Filled with joy and exuberant energy, Mundi has captured hearts across the land and far-flung seas with its blend of Brazilian and African drums, an array of flutes and voice, dancing, electric guitar and bass. Mundi’s music encapsulates the reverence for the earth and lures people into an ancient memory of the pulse of life - awakening our dancing selves lurking beneath
Mundi has performed at numerous festivals including Newtown Festival, Prana, Luminate, Festival of Lights (New Plymouth) Christchurch Arts Festival and TEDX in the Christchurch Townhall. Mundi was chosen to perform on the banks of the Avon/ Ōtākaro river in Christchurch, New Zealand with Yo-Yo Ma and Marlon Williams as part of Yo-Yo Ma's Bach Project.
