About this Event
Come join us at The Sensory Club - Austin for a unique event tailored specifically for neurodivergent adults.
A Gentle Approach to Sensory Wellness
Sound has a profound ability to heal, to calm, to reconnect. For those of us with unique sensory experiences, finding a space of true comfort can feel challenging. This sound healing session is different.
Our Approach
Our experience is thoughtfully designed to honor individual sensory needs, creating a supportive environment where you can explore healing at your own pace.
We've reimagined wellness through a neurodivergent-affirming lens. Our approach recognizes that sensory processing is deeply personal and complex.
We integrate multiple sensory modalities to create a holistic experience:
- Sound frequencies are carefully selected to be soothing rather than jarring
- Aromatherapy uses gentle, non-invasive scents
- Tactile elements like weighted eye cover and soft textures are available
- Movement and positioning are flexible - there's no "correct" way to participate
Practical Details
- BYOC-(bring your own comfort) Bring items that make you feel safe and comfortable: This can include a pillow, blanket (weighted or not), fidget items, etc..
- We'll provide additional sensory support: weighted eye cover, Essential oil roll-on, Squish ball, Rose Quarts, and a warm towel and Ayurvedic Tea to enjoy after the session.
- Small group setting (maximum 25 participants)
- Designed for neurodivergent adults
Our Space
A calm, controlled environment where you can explore sensory healing without pressure. Fidgeting is welcome. Overstimulation is understood. Your experience is valid.
-->We invite you to arrive 10-15 minutes before the session begins. This extra time allows you to:
- Explore the space at your own pace
- Familiarize yourself with the environment
- Choose a spot that feels most comfortable and safe
- Settle in without rush or pressure
-->Hydration plays a subtle yet significant role in your sound healing journey:
- Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of the session
- Water is believed to be a conductor of energetic vibrations
- Proper hydration can help your body more effectively receive and process the sound frequencies
- Think of water as a medium that helps amplify the healing vibrations
-->Additional Considerations
- Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
- Layers are recommended (temperature sensitivity varies)
- Bring noise-canceling headphones if needed
A healing journey is personal, unique, and entirely your own.
By participating in this multi-sensory sound healing experience, you have the option to contribute to a research study exploring how these specific sensory practices impact neurodivergent individuals, with the goal of generating community-driven insights that could help develop more inclusive wellness approaches.
