Come work in Redwood Creek to help endangered Coho salmon! We will be adding branches and sticks to pre-constructed habitat structures
About this Event

Endangered coho salmon are dependent on complex, woody habitat within their streams. Muir Woods has previously constructed Small Woody Debris structures, also called post-assisted log structures (PALS), which are in need of another round of wood enhancement. Click here to watch or read a segment from NBC about the project.

Volunteers will be allowed to park for free, and will be provided with a pair of rainboots and gloves, if they don't have their own. We will start around 9:00 am, take a lunch break around noon, and then work until approximately 3:30 pm. Volunteers are welcome to explore Muir Woods afterwards, at their leisure.

We will be working in and around the creek, so please wear clothes that you are comfortable getting wet and dirty. Please wear long sleeves, pants, and bring a hat. Eye protection can be provided, if you can't bring your own.

Please contact Alison ([email protected]) with any questions or concerns!
