BIOS
Jacob R. Moses (AKA Jack M. Freedman) is a poet/spoken word artist from New York City. He penned the chapbooks ...and the willow smiled (Cyberwit, 2019), Art Therapy 101(Cyberwit, 2019), and Seance (Cyberwit, 2020). His most recent book is Grimoire (iiPublishing, 2021). It is a full-length poetry collection written in the form of a book of spells.
Publications featuring his work span the globe. Countries include USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Wales, France, The Netherlands, Ukraine, South Africa, Nigeria, Mauritius, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Iraq, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan. Under Jack and Jacob, he has over 200 published poems to his name.
An avid spoken word poet, Jacob has performed in numerous venues across the Northeast. Some of these events include Staten Island-based festival, St. George Day, and LGBTQ+ themed comic book convention, Flame-Con. Other venues include Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Nevele Grand, and the Jersey Shore Arts Center. He is a veteran reader at the NYC Poetry Festival on Governors Island, having read in 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2024.
Additionally, Jacob received a Masters in December of 2023. He holds an MA in English and Creative Writing - Poetry from Southern New Hampshire University. While at SNHU, he was inducted into the International English Honor Society, better known as Sigma Tau Delta.

Douglas G. Cala is a spoken word performance poet, photographer/videographer and editor from New York. Getting his start on the cafe open mic circuit in the mid-2000s, Douglas has gone on to headline a variety of venues around the East Coast. These include feature showcases at The Cutting Room, Metropolitan Room, NJPAC, Brooklyn College, Manhattanville College, Columbia University, Bowery Poetry Club, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Busboys and Poets, the IMPerfect Gallery, Cornelia Street Cafe, Sidewalk Cafe, Parkside Lounge, New York Public Library, and the New York City Poetry Festival on Governors Island, among many others.
He has been published in a variety of zines, magazines and anthologies including Trouvaille Review, Soup Can Magazine, Flora Fiction, Gnashing Teeth Publishing, Poet's Haven, IMPspired, Boog City, First Literary Review-East, Masticadores, Anxiety Press, Taj Mahal Review, and others. When not writing and reciting, Douglas works full time for NYC Public Schools’s Division of Instructional Information Technology department as an Instructional IT Support Specialist. His six-track spoken word performance poetry/hybrid music EP Oenomel was released in Fall 2023. He self-published his first chapbook Troubadour in Summer 2024.
