€30 BUDGET COMMANDER TOURNAMENT
Can you build the strongest Commander deck for just €30?
Cavern of Fools and ÅBEN are bringing back our Budget Commander Tournament during Aarhus Festuge! After the success of our previous events, we're once again challenging everyone to build strong Commander decks on a tight budget.
This is a competitive but fun event focused on creative deckbuilding, hidden gems, and great gameplay. Fun is the main objective so extreme salty behaviour will not be tolerated.
Whether you're an experienced brewer or trying Budget Commander for the first time, everyone is welcome!

📅 EVENT SCHEDULE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The tournament runs from 14.30-20.30 (if you make the Final Pod).
By registering, you commit to playing all three Swiss rounds.
Round 1: 14.30-16.00
Round 2: 16.00-17.30
Round 3: 17.30-19.00
Final Pod: 19.00-20.30
Each round has a maximum time limit of 90 minutes.
If time is called before a game has finished, standings within the pod are determined by life total. If multiple players are tied, they share placement and points.

📝 REGISTRATION

Participation requires a small registration fee, which covers one free beer.
We introduced this fee because we have previously had registered players who did not show up, which disrupted the tournament structure.

• Maximum deck value: €30
• Based on Cardmarket pricing via Moxfield
• Commander is included in the budget
• Basic lands do not count
• All other cards count toward the total
• Random deck checks will be performed

Proxies are allowed!
• Must include name, mana cost, type line, and oracle text
• Full-art proxies without readable rules text are not allowed
• Must be clearly identifiable during gameplay

⚔️ FORMAT

This is CCEDH (Casual Competitive EDH).
Play to win, keep track of your triggers, and know your turn order. While the level is competitive, we expect a friendly and respectful atmosphere from everyone.

🏆 TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• Three Swiss rounds
• Pods are assigned each round to avoid repeat matchups where possible
• Top 4 players advance to the Final Pod
• At the start of each round, all players roll a d20 to determine seating order
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🎯 SCORING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Win a game: 2 points
K*ll a player: 1 point
If you eliminate all remaining opponents simultaneously, you receive 2 points for the win plus 1 point per eliminated opponent by combat damage.
