How does PreRelease work??
1) Preregister early for the event or events in which you want to play! Use the Magic Companion App, or call (757) 657-8282 and speak with a Tower associate!
2) Show up for the event- we recommend at least 15 minutes early! Pay for your entry/Prerelease kit- BUT DO NOT OPEN THE KIT YET!
3) At start time, a Tower associate will announce it’s time to build your decks- you have ONE HOUR! You can now open your Prerelease kit and start building a 40-card deck- any cards inside your Prerelease kit are fair game, as well as the basic lands provided by the store!
4) After deck-building is over, it’s time to play! You play three rounds, and get prizes depending on how well you do!
Prizing
Normal Structure
- 2.5 packs per player (rounded up) go into a pool! (20 players = 50 packs!)
- 1 pack per player in first round for participation! (50 packs – 20 packs = 30 remaining packs!)
- 2 packs for players with 2 wins! (30 packs - 8 players with 2 wins = 14 remaining packs!)
- Undefeated players split remaining pool! (2 undefeated players = 7 Packs each!)
