MSL Guided Forest Walk
About this Event
Morven Sustainability Lab Guided Forest Walk
Join Louis Bubrig, a recent UVA PhD Graduate Student, Lab Specialist for UVA Biology, and Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards Volunteer, for a guided walk down Morven's original driveway exploring the life of a forest. Throughout this walk, visitors will learn how forests are born, how they change over time, and how they reach old age, all visible within a relatively short distance.
This hour-long walk is designed to help participants learn how to read and interpret a forest, offering a window into the different stages of a forest's life. Please note that while this is a walk rather than a hike, it covers about two miles round trip, walking down and then back up a gradual slope along Morven's old drive—so comfortable footwear is recommended.
Visitors are invited to explore Morven before or after the Forest Walk. Arrive early or stay later for our Fridays @ Morven program to explore the grounds on your own (10AM-5PM), learn more in our Fridays @ Morven event details on our Eventbrite page.
