*A Critical Mass is a cycling event to bring all types of riders together to promote safety through the streets. They happen globally and vary in every city they happen in.

Join us to advocate for safer streets at a celebration of community and car-free transportation!
Last June Memphis, TN was voted the most dangerous city for pedestrians. We saw 343 pedestrian deaths between 2018 and 2022, up from 186 from the previous 5 year period. This also ties into our ranking as the least bike-friendly city in the nation. These statistics are daunting especially so much unmaintained bike and sidewalk infrastructure.
What's up with that? And why isn't this infrastructure being maintained properly? We know that pedestrians and cyclists deserve to feel safe and will continue using car-free modes of transportation, so it's time to focus on fixing these issues as a community of safe infrastructure advocates.
Memphis Social Bicycle Club hosts weekly rides around midtown and downtown Memphis. We average 50+ cyclists every Thursday and we continue to grow! We believe that Memphis has so much potential to be a more bike and pedestrian friendly city. It is just time to advocate for ourselves.
We encourage everyone with a bike and helmet to join us to advocate for safe streets and a more bike-friendly Memphis. We are commuters, hobbyists, and a little bit of both. This will be a chance to show Memphians that we have a robust bike community and everyone deserves to be safe when they're on two wheels. Following the ride, we will have a celebration at Wiseacre Downtown HQ where you can learn more about safe riding, community partners, and the MSBC bike community!

We are hosting MSBC Memphis Critical Mass on Sunday, November 3 at Wiseacre Brewery HQ in Downtown Memphis. It will be a short 5 mile ride around downtown Memphis followed by a celebration of car-free transportation.
Afterwards, participants will be able to grab a beer and some snacks and hang out with other cyclists. We will have community organizers and friends join us to share more ways to get involved in the Memphis Cycling Community.
Details:
-Where: Wiseacre Downtown HQ (398 S. BB King Blvd), free parking at the brewery
-When: Riders will meet at 12:00pm, ride starts at 1 pm
-Afterparty: 1:30- 3:00 pm
-Who: Anyone who owns a bike, young or old! Everyone is welcome.
-What to wear: Please wear comfortable clothes for cycling in, we ask that everyone who participates on the ride wears a buckled helmet.
